Dr. Skopek earned his Bachelor of Science degree in microbiology from the University of Wisconsin and Doctor of Dental Surgery and Master of Science in orthodontics from the University of Minnesota. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the American Association of Orthodontists, the International Association of Dental Research and is past president of the North Suburban Branch of the Chicago Dental Society. His continuing education experience is extensive and includes the American Equilibration Society, the Dawson Institute for Advanced Dental Study, the Pankey Institute and the Seattle Institute for Advanced Dental Education. Dr. Skopek is a published author and is co-founder of the Northwest Interdisciplinary Dentofacial Study Group. A native of the Chicago area, Dr. Skopek and his family are active in community affairs. He is married to Stephanie, who is a general dentist, and has two daughters. He began private practice in Minneapolis, Minnesota and then returned home to northern Illinois in 1995. He has practiced orthodontics exclusively in the Barrington area since 1996. He also enjoys golf, home improvement and spending time with his family.
